Polish artist Goshka Macuga’s collaboration with Miu Miu for the Spring-Summer 2025 collection culminated in a thought-provoking showcase that seamlessly blended fashion, art, and commentary on contemporary media. The event was transformed into a dynamic printing press for the fictional newspaper “The Truthless Times”, with copies circulating above the runway and distributed to attendees. These newspapers featured only provocative headlines, emphasizing the blurred lines between fact and fiction in today’s post-truth era.

Macuga, a graduate of Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and Goldsmiths, University of London, and a 2008 Turner Prize nominee, has a history of exploring themes of authorship and information dissemination. Her previous collaboration with Miu Miu in October 2024, the “Tales and Tellers” exhibition during Art Basel Paris, offered an immersive experience reinterpreting characters from Miu Miu’s artistic projects.

This event featured performers in archival Miu Miu outfits, embodying characters from the brand’s films and artistic endeavors, and showcased all 28 of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales films on innovative screens.

The Spring-Summer 2025 show continued this exploration, with Macuga’s set design serving as a critical backdrop to Miuccia Prada’s collection. The garments featured a mix of hyper-classic silhouettes and experimental elements, including layered polos, 70s prints, and floral skirts with buttons. The collection also incorporated sporty track separates and cutout bathing suits, adding a contemporary twist to vintage-inspired pieces.

The collaboration between Macuga and Miu Miu reflects a shared interest in examining themes of truth, identity, and the role of media in shaping public perception. By integrating art and fashion, the Spring-Summer 2025 showcase challenged attendees to question the narratives presented to them, highlighting the complex relationship between appearance and reality in modern society.
